Community First Responders

South Central Ambulance Service

What is a Responder?

The Team   The Henley 1 & 2 Responder Groups
...a member of the public, trained by the Ambulance Service, who volunteers to help in their community by responding to medical emergencies before the arrival of an emergency ambulance.   There are two responder groups in Henley, providing more extensive cover in terms of availability and geographic area than single schemes can do.

The members are: Robert, Martyn, Jane, Tara, Steve, and Paul.

Robert Aitken is the local Scheme Coordinator and for general enquiries, and fund-raising, he can be contacted by email or phone (01491 575881 or 07899 928928).

We are very keen to recruit further responders to be able to provide 24/7 coverage on this valuable service. If you would like to help too, please contact Robert Aitken or the SCAS Responder Manager, Hugh Whitaker.

When we have a picture we can put it here!

The Area We Cover

As well as meeting for the SCAS initial and regular update training, Henley group get together regularly to update each other.  We welcome members of adjacent groups to join in too.
