My practice is in Little Venice and Paddington and close to Bayswater, St. John’s Wood and Maida Vale, and in walking distance of Warwick Avenue and Paddington Underground stations, making it easy to travel from the West End, the City and West London via the Bakerloo, Hammersmith & City, and District and Circle Lines.

“If there is pain then there is something you don’t understand.”

Ray Menezes

Anxiety, bereavement, depression, feeling lost, the breakdown of a relationship or the loss of a job, low self-esteem are feelings and life events that everyone can experience in their lives at some point. Often we try to cope on our own and this can burden our relationships, friendships and family eventually blocking our ability to heal and move on with our lives.

Counselling & psychotherapy offer an empathic and supportive space to help navigate difficult and painful times. Whether you are looking for short-term support or want to explore deeper issues, I am experienced in working with a wide range of symptoms from anxiety and eating disorders to depression and lack of self-esteem, and with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

Psychotherapy facilitates personal insight into the patterns and behaviours which operate out of our awareness, and helps to integrate the parts of us we have disowned or are unaware of. The results of this process amongst others are increased confidence and energy, personal growth and the courage to change where we have previously felt stuck and uninspired.

"Psychotherapy has to do with two people playing together. The corollary of this is that where playing is not possible then the work done by the therapist is directed towards bringing the patient from a state of not being able to play to a state of being able to play."

 Winnicott/Playing & Reality

Believing that the overall key to successful psychotherapy depends on the quality of the relationship between my client and me.  In my practice I incorporate psychodynamic, humanistic and transpersonal approaches. I also use techniques to increase body awareness and breath-work to support the body-mind relationship, helping to regain balance and vitality.

Sometimes experiential movement and drama work may be introduced with client consent. The element of play this introduces can be transforming as well as safe and enjoyable, allowing for psyche and soma/mind and body to discover its own healing solutions without the intervention of talking. Having been working as a Psychotherapist & Counsellor in private practice for 10 years in London, I offer counselling which lasts for a shorter-period and is more focussed and goal orientated, and psychotherapy which is more process-lead, allowing time to explore deeper issues.

I trained in Transpersonal Psychotherapy at the Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education, and have worked as a supervisor and facilitator on their diploma training programme.  I have regular clinical supervision, and subscribe to the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy Code of Ethics.

Before beginning my training in psychotherapy I worked in the fashion and music industry, and taught drama and movement with a theatre group. I worked as a massage therapist in the corporate sector as well as having my own practice, and taught movement and exercise in various venues around London. I have also worked in the voluntary sector and with business psychologists.
